Literature review
Review of Literature on the Use of
Information and Communication Technology in the context of Careers Education and Guidance
The first literature review was undertaken in February 2003. The amount of
specific literature relating to the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in careers education in schools and colleges was limited.
The initial review, therefore, drew on the findings from studies that focused on the use of ICT in the broader context of learning. Although not exhaustive, it aimed to provide an analysis of key historical and contemporary data concerning the barriers to the uptake and use of ICT by teachers. In particular, the review was designed to inform an external evaluation of the ‘Connecting Careers and ICT’ publication and the associated Careers Education and Guidance (CEG) website.
